Hi! I'm Mrs. Becca and this is Sweetie Bug Playschool LLC. A nature-based in-home childcare service dedicated to providing a playful and engaging environment for children. I am committed to integrating outdoor exploration, nature and art centered activities into our curriculum, fostering a deep connection to natural learning from an early age.

DESE Licensing
Sweetie Bug Playschool is currently a small child in-home childcare for up to 6 students. The state of Missouri does not require childcare home with 6 or less students to be licensed. However, I am currently working with DESE to become licensed. I have meet with all inspectors and completed many of the home renovations that the state requires. At this point the only items left on the list are replacing 5 standard battery smoke detectors with hardwired and interconnected ones, re-routing a dryer vent, and adding a fast response sprinkler head to my utility room. This work is looking to cost between $2,000 - $2,700 to complete.

I am not currently DESE licensed. I do remain a DESE approved caregiver, completing required yearly training and even hold my Director License with DESE. Sweetie Bug Playschool is licensed LLC with the Clay County and the City of Gladstone MO. I am happy to share DESE inspection reports with any potential families and keep current families updated on progress of the Licensing process.
The Future!
Sweetie Bug Playschool LLC will hopefully not be a small in-home childcare for long! My goal is to open a small 30 student childcare center a few blocks down the road within the next few years.
